Frequently asked questions
Its super helpful to know what you want to get tattooed before messaging us.
Reference pictures are a great tool so we can see what kind of direction you want to do in.
It's also a good idea to think about the sizing and placement of your new tattoo as this will affect the pricing and timescale of your new piece!
Each of our artists set their own pricing, but all of us have the minimum set up fee of £40 for really small pieces. Get in touch with what you’re after, along with sizing (in cm or inches) Placement (where you want your tattoo to be on your body) style preferences (i.e. colour, line work, black and grey etc) and any reference pictures or doodles over.
If you have a specific artist in mind let us know!
Yes, all or our artists require a deposit to book an appointment. This goes towards either starting a design or securing a date.
If you need to reschedule an appointment we require 72 hours (3 days) notice, we can reschedule you once with the same deposit.
If you decide to cancel your appointment and choose to not get tattooed by us, the deposit will be then considered a drawing fee or booking fee to cover a small amount of artists time.
Quick points:
Moisturise every day before your tattoo appointment.
No alcohol the night before and day of your tattoo.
Get a good nights sleep.
Eat and hydrate!
Wear comfy clothes (think about where you’re having the tattoo and don’t wear your bests in case of accidental ink splashes!)
Snackkkkkks! Nip to the shop before hand for any sweets, snacks or drinks to help keep your blood sugars up throughout your tattoo :)
If you don’t moisturise as your daily routine it’s always a good habit to start! Not only does it make it a little easier for your artist doing your tattoo session but it helps keep your new and existing tattoos looking bright!
Please don’t drink any alcohol the night before your tattoo appointment it can thin your blood and make the tattoo process harder or even impossible to do safely. Your artist can refuse to tattoo you if they feel it isn’t safe to do so and another deposit would be required to make another appointment.
Make sure you’ve had a good nights sleep and a good breakfast or lunch before you’re getting tattooed to avoid the possibility of feeling lightheaded. Snacks and drinks are allowed in the studio so you can bring sugary things to help you through your session!
If you’re booked in for a full day there will be a break for lunch or whenever you or your artists needs to throughout the day.
The short answer is yes! …but only if we think it is possible to do so. If you want to enquire about a cover up please send us a picture of what you currently have tattooed (take a clear photo, front on in daylight) along with any ideas of what you’d like to get it covered with. Include as much info you can along with any reference pictures and if you have a preferred artist!
From there we will be able to tell you if it is doable and get you in touch with your artist for a direct consultation either online or in the studio. With coverups you may need to be a little open with ideas and flexible on sizing and design, it’s always done on a case by case basis, every cover is different but your tattoo artist will talk you through it all!
If we don’t think it will work as a coverup, laser tattoo removal is always a great option to lighten an unwanted pice enough to get it covered with something you love! We don’t offer laser treatment in the studio but we can point you in the right direction to start your cover up journey!
We can in most cases…but it does depend on the severity and maturity of your scar. This is judged on a case by case basis. In general a scar should be fully settled, at least one or two years old and no longer be a reddish/pinkish coloir.
If you were looking to have a scar cover up please send in a photo of the scar as well as what you were looking to cover it up with so we can pair you with your tattoo artist.
There are a few different aftercare options, your artist will talk you through which they think would be best to suit you and your new tattoo.
We can use a second skin if you don’t have any allergies to adhesives, this is a clear bandage that can be changed and left on for a total of around 4-5 days.
Or if you do have allergies we would recommend dry healing, which is when your artist will wrap your new tattoo in cling film upon completion, this need to be left on for an hour or so, once its time for the cling film to come off you need to clean your new tattoo using warm soapy water.
Lather soap up and using your fingers gently clean the area, making sure to get rid of any blood, ink and plasma (Yum yum) Pat dry with a clean piece of kitchen roll to avoid getting lint stuck.
And then apply a small amount of aftercare balm to the area, but don’t smother it! This needs to be repeated 2-3 times a day for the first week or so.
Its completely normal for your new tattoo to be a little red and sore.
Some bruising and seepage (just a little blood/plasma and excess ink) is normal in the first few days. Some scabbing is normal but can be kept to a minimum by sticking to your aftercare routine.
Around the week mark your tattoo will start to flake and become itchy, this is normal and all part of the healing process, DO NOT pick or scratch your new tattoo as this can lead to infection and ink fall out.
You can exercise straight away, but use your common sense.
If something hurts to do, stop doing it whilst your tattoo is healing.
Gyms can also be dirty places, make sure you’re wiping your equipment and that your new tattoo isn’t touching the machinery. Wear loose fitting clothes if you’re dry healing.
We don’t recommend swimming, saunas etc until your tattoo if fully healed.
Discounts are made at the artists discretion, getting multiple tattoos in one session always works out a little cheaper as we only have to use one set up on you.
Keep and eye out on our artists Instagrams for predrawn flash, these are usually designs we would love to tattoo and are usually up at a discounted rate.
